Research

We study diverse mechanisms which are related to different psychopathologies and processes which cut across different disorders. Our ultimate goal is to inform our understanding of psychopathologies, improve our assessments, develop new interventions, and contribute to clinical decision-making. All of which will improve the lives of individuals who struggle with these disorders.

Mental health or neuropsychiatric disorders are a leading cause of disability worldwide. While therapies are useful, numerous individuals still struggle with such symptoms. We use clinical assessments, neurocognitive tasks, neurophysiology, and neuroimaging to improve our understanding of different disorders and their treatments.

What if we could check in real time what is happening to people in an anxiety attack and does a particular treatment help them on a lot of people at the same time by simple and unobtrusive means?

Think about it, what if we could run research over the cell phone, anywhere, anytime?

What if we could check in real time what is happening to people in an anxiety attack and does a particular treatment help them on a lot of people at the same time by simple and unobtrusive means?

This is the future of experimentation!

Abbreant responses to uncertainty are central in multiple psychopathologies.

Our studies demonstrated that we can improve responses to uncertainty in the lab. We are now testing whether we can improve responses to uncertainty in one's daily life using customized mobile applications.

Sounds interesting? We are recruiting new students!
